3-4g in a teapot, use boiled water cooled to 80°C. Infuse for 2-3 minutes

This 3* Great Taste Award winning Lapsang Souchong is traditionally produced at the original source of Lapsang in the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian.  It has been certified organic at its source. 

The whole leaves for this tea are dried above fires of pine needles for 3 days to give this Lapsang Souchong its distinctive smoky flavour. It produces a golden orange brew, perfect for sipping in the afternoon or for after dinner in the evening.  It's Chinese name is Zhengshan Xiaozhong, which when pronounced is how the name lapsang souchong got its translated name.  Zheng Shan means "Original Mountain" and only tea leaves picked from a part area of Wuyishan Mountain, can be called as "Zheng Shan".  Its made from the Wuyi Caicha cultivar.

Lapsang Souchong first began to be dried using the pine needles during the Qing Era. This process came about because an Army was passing through the WuyiShan where the tea leaf drying normally took place and their presence prevented this from being carried out. Thus the tea producers needed to create a new way of drying the leaves so that they could get to market on time. Therefore they came up with smoke-drying the leaves over pine-wood fires and accidentally creating the smoky taste that Lapsang Souchong is now famous for.
