More Info
Often referred to as the “Champagne of teas” for being so fancy we think of this one as our Champagne tea because of the lovely grape taste…and of course because it really is one of the best teas in the world!
This mellow tasting tea is grown and produced in Darjeeling in West Bengal, India. This world famous tea is difficult to compare to other black teas (especially the first flush) because of the greenness of the tea.
Having a mild astringency, first flush Darjeeling’s are picked after the spring rains in mid-March. The young buds are grown high up in the Himalayas where the climate is perfect for growing this tea. This tea brews to a light golden colour and is best enjoyed without milk. It makes the perfect addition to an afternoon tea but can really be enjoyed at any time of the day.
