Silver Needle is one of the most coveted white teas in the world. Produced only in the spectacular and mountainous province of Fujian on the Southeast coast of China, the buds used to make this tea must be picked before they are too old meaning the farmers only have a few days each spring to harvest them. This means that Silver Needle tea is quite a rare tea and outstanding in taste.
The young buds are so tender and the processing they go through as minimal as possible that the end results is a very delicate and light tea but one that is full of flavour and high in anti-oxidants (you can read more about these here). The sweetness is reminiscent of honeysuckle as there is a slight floral hint.
So light and refreshing is this tea that it satisfies your thirst better than water and is a beneficial to the soul as it is to the body. It is a truly heavenly brew.
