Liu'an Guapian Tea (Melon Seed Tea) is a famous Chinese green tea with a long history, and it originates in Qiyun Mountain in Liu'an District, Anhui Province. The name of this mountain literally means “As High as the Clouds.”
The leaves themselves rememble melon seeds giving the tea its name, ‘Melon Seed Tea.’ It is the only kind of flat tea within green teas that doesn’t use the bud. Instead the second leaf on the branch is picked and the central vein removed before the leaves are pan fired over a low heat.
