Social Media

Social Media has recently taken over our daily lives…well mine anyway! Social Media is the term used to describe online networks such as forums, social networking sites, weblogs and microblogs, content communities, etc. You can’t really visit the World Wide Web without experiencing one of the mediums. In fact you can’t really avoid them no matter what you do, from the QR Code on the back of your fish fingers, to the YouTube video your friend has uploaded of you dancing at Christmas; social media surrounds us whether we like it or not.

LuLin Teas Update

A lot has been going on at LuLin Teas lately so I thought I would just do a little blog to update you with some of the major things:

We have become a member of The Guild of Fine Foods which “is the UK trade association for anyone making or selling top quality local, regional and speciality food and drink.” So we fit right in!

We have a few new stockists and are putting together a webpage for you to be able to check who stocks us or where you can go for a cup of our tea and a piece of cake!

We have also moved premises. We are now operating out of our own warehouse which means we will be able to offer more services than before, including international shipping so watch this space for more news on that! Not that this effects the tea but the setting for our new premises is beautiful – there is a stream running beside the warehouse so we have happy staff who can’t wait for summer picnics during their lunch breaks! Top Tea Tips!

Like most businesses these days we have an active Facebook page on which content seems to naturally flow now but at the beginning I was at a loss of what to post so I started posting ‘Tea Tips’ regularly. I have now reached number 50 and I think that this is where my list shall come to an end. That doesn’t mean that I won’t post tea tips but I thought it was time to collate the tips and post them here for easy referral! Upon making the list I realised that I posted the same tip twice (see if you can spot the duplicate)! So to make up for this I’ll add one last one to the end!

Tea Tip#1: Dry out used tea leaves (I personally recommend Jasmine Dragon Pearls), bag them up and place them in your drawers for an aromatic delight! Or give them to your friends as a nice handmade gift!

Tea Tip#2: Try adding honey to your tea instead of sugar for a different flavour. In the office we love to drink Pu Erh with honey as the flavours really compliment each other.

The first time I tried Green Tea…

The first time I tried green tea, I was 10 years old and on a plane between Singapore and Australia. I can honestly recommend to anyone – do NOT try green tea for the first time when you are on a plane! As we all learn when we get older and wiser, nothing that is served to you on a plane tastes nice, but it was my first time flying so I hadn’t learnt that yet.

So having gone for years thinking I did not like green tea, following my tasting on the plane, I was shocked when I did finally discover that there were so many different ones, all tasting deliciously different. Having been converted since my first experience I enjoy many different ones, and found that nothing beats loose leaf, and my favourite from this year’s harvest is Mao Feng from Huang Shan “Yellow Mountain” in Anhui.

My Favourite Green Tea - Mao Feng!

Thanks,

Amy

Get to know the LuLin Team!

‘Getting to know you
Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you
Getting to hope you like me
Getting to know you
Putting it my way but nicely
You are precisely my cup of tea’

I think that it is important for a company to be able to relate to its customers and vice versa. I have therefore asked everybody at Lu Lin, including those not based in the U.K. to write a little bit about their personal tea journey. Continue reading
